Master's Program in Electronics/ Telecommunications, 120 credits

The postgraduate programme is a two-year programme and requires the undergraduate, or an equivalent programme for admission.

The aim of the programme in electronics / telecommunication

The aim of the programme is to give the student advanced knowledge of Electronics specialized in Telecommunications.
The master studies are based on a previously achieved B. Sc. degree in Electronics or equivalent. An advanced theoretical programme is offered, with assignments and projects in a well-equipped laboratory. The high-standard laboratory is the result of a cooperation between the University and well-known telecommunication and instrumentation companies.

The programme is built up of courses in:

Physics and Statistics and specialization in Electronics, including:

  • RF Measurements
  • Cellular Radio Systems
  • Microwave Engineering
  • Antenna Engineering
  • Statistical Signal Processing
  • Solid-State Electronics
  • Modulation and Coding
  • Radio Systems
  • Master's Thesis

After the studies

The programme aims to give the student qualifications for advanced engineering in relevant industry­ as well as qualifications for Ph.D. studies.

Competence:
Bachelor of Science (BSC) or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degrees in Electronics or equivalent. Relevant courses in electronics must be included in the exam (individual evaluation). At least 30 ECTS in Mathematics and one passed course in signal processing. Also required is knowledge equivalent to Swedish upper secondary school course English B or equivalent to one of the following tests; IELTS : an overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5 TOEFL (paper-based): Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575 TOEFL (internet-based): Score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test and a total score of 90.
