The first year of studies is devoted to advanced studies in Biomedicine and Science. The education in Experimental Medicine is aimed at creating professionals and future leaders in the field of Medical research and development.
The studies are coupled with practice in the form of laboratory work and team-group work. Courses at the advanced level in many research and technology-driven areas in Biomedicine (such as Experimental Neurobiology, Tumor biology, Cell Culturing and Animal models) and Science (Biostatistics and advanced courses in Molecular Biology) are instructed by researchers in the field of the studies.
The second year is planned as a Career School , that is, one longer or several shorter projects are combined with courses. The education is aimed at preparing the students for modern experimental Medical research and development.
The Programme includes 2-years of full-time studies (120 ECTS), is given by the Medical Faculty, and leads to a Master of Medical Science, with a Major in Biomedicine and specialization in Experimental Medicine . The education is given in a research environment at the newly established Biomedical Research Centre in Lund.
